Art Late - Response to Theatre Piece No. 1

As part of Art Late Inverleith House will be presenting a performance based on John Cage's 'Theatre Piece No.1' which is rumoured to have been performed at Black Mountain College during Robert Rauschenberg's time there.

Produced by Edinburgh based artist Ash Reid the performance will take place on the lawn in front of Inverleith House and will involve the performers: Liene Rozite, Euan Currie, James Phillips, Neil Davidson, Andrew Smith and Ash Reid.

Dario Fariello - Italian saxophonist living in Berlin who plays regularly with Tristan Honsinger and almost never with James Brown. Dario's melodic lines are strong and ambiguous, but unlike the ropes used by Antonio Banderas's character in Átame! they don't stand for heteronormative binding, much. More like Fellini at his most bucolic; solo he's like a handbag of aluminium fox cubs in a tight white suit.

FvrTvR is a dry heave and solid shove whistling dixie in Heartburn Alley. It's made with the tofu & insect electronics of Guido Henneboehl combined with the anemic percussion and vocal gasp of Fritz Welch. Taking a cue from Nat King Cole and Stubby Kaye this duo operates in a realm of marginal expectations and exuberant possibilities. FvrTvR's music stumbles interstitially between concrete ambulance drippings and transparent arctic headaches. Its a torn up piece of paper passing amnesia to its most unlikely listeners.

Muris + Noma is a three part thought experiment with expectations of unquiet refrain. L. Rozite - pipes, N. Davidson - strings, Noma - other things.

In spring 2010 three friends were loaned a video camera and seized the opportunity to explore contemporary fringe musics in Scotland.
